Here are a few ideas I have thought about ... - when VI's are moved to different directories or renamed within the IDE, their link to other VI's would automatically be maintained - Project level documentation could be created and maintained with the IDE. While browsing VI's and other files in the IDE, some of this documentation could be displayed. - Configuration files such as .ini or database files could be integrated into the project via the IDE. Then LabVIEW programming using these settings and other variables could be streamlined and simplified. (Integration with the MSDE, other databases, and XML could incredibly useful!)
