There are "Drivers" for most instruments. You can find them at National
Instruments web site, which is a great resource.

For the Keithley 237

You didn't specify the model of the Agilent multimeter so you can search
here for it:

There is a short tutorial that comes with LabVIEW which is a good place to
start. The National Instruments Developers Zone
(http://zone.ni.com/devzone/devzoneweb.nsf) has lots of information. The
LabVIEW Basics I and LabVIEW Basics II courses are a great place to get
started with LabVIEW. You can attend a class or get Course Kits, which
contain a manual and software exercises that you would use if you attended
an instructor-led course. There are also books available for LabVIEW that
will teach you anything you want to learn. Check out Amazon.com and do a
search on LabVIEW.

Subject: Using GPIB

Hi

I am pretty new to LabView programming and am having a project that involves
acquisition using GPIB. I have never used GPIB before.

The two instruments that that I will be using are Keithley 237 HV Source and
a HP Agilent Multimeter. The process is basically applying current from the
HVsource to material in test and measure the voltage across using the HP
multimeter.

Being new to GPIB, I was wondering how to start on this. I was wondering
whether there are any standard routines to reading/writing, configuring
instead of me writing for the Keithley and HP instrument that I will be
using. This would be helpful for me to start with.

Also, I would like to know where to start reading to develop progams for the
same. I was kind of stuck for past 2 days when I saw the LabView user group
online.

Thank you all for the help,

Gokul
