The first place you should look is at the shipping example called Write Table to XL (Help>Find Examples). It uses ActiveX. It won't do everything you need because it creates a new sheet for writing but it wouldn't take much to modify it to keep track of the last row written in a shift register for example. The third place to look is this forum. doing a search for Excel shows about 1000 questions in the last 2 years. Many of these include examples.
