Hello, Hello,
I've got a unique situation here that might be interesting. The LeCroy Wavepro oscilloscopes have an embedded PC with one slot containing a NI PCI_GPIB card and another open PCI slot! This means I can - possibly - use it to control my automated power supply test benches (I use an NI6713 along with GPIB) and be able to get waveform data FAST through the LeCroy VISA driver - just like I was able to when I ran LabVIEW embedded in a Tektronix 6000 series. The Lecroy VISA driver doesn't seem to support GPIB I/O comm very well; I cant even do a *IDN? with that one, while when using the NI visa it works just fine. This is a don't care situation for me; I don't use visa for any GPIB and the LV7 non-visa GPIB functions work just fine on this platform, even with the LeCroy VISA driver installed. Now, when I was using the Tektronix VISA on their 6000 series scope, I could comm with it using GPIB8::1::INSTR. I'm guessing that Tek put their "internal communications path" setting at GPIB8, to get it out of the way of someone possibly having up to 8 GPIB ports... Does anyone know if the LeCroy VISA works similarly? What would be the resource name for the direct line to the scope functions? The LeCroy drivers for this model are all IVI and I would really prefer not to go there if at all possible. Just the proper resource name for this LeCroy VISA driver would, I believe, get me going just fine; I have the printed manual with the GPIB commands. Any help or insight would be appreciated. Best Regards, Joe Jasniewski
