I agree with Rolf's advice:

... During development don't use LLBs.

On the other hand, they are very helpful in porting projects to other platforms. Different operating systems have different sets of characters that are illegal in file names. An LLB will allow you to move a file that tests a boolean condition (e.g., Run Before?.vi) from a Mac to a PC without renaming it. After trying to export files with question marks in their names a couple of times, though, you'll probably switch to a naming convention more like Has Been Run Before.vi.
