If you want symbols that are in a font, you might consider using text. Increase the font size to thicken the symbol and make them fit the button. If you only need one piece of text, just show the button text and use that. You can also unlock it from the center and place it wherever you like. If you need more control or can't find the symbol in a font, you can import a graphic and import it as a decal on the button. If simply paste it, it will catch mouse clicks. If integrated as a button image or decal image, it will do what you want. Good choices for nonrectangular images are icons and png files. The png is a very nice format, but good graphics packages these days either cost a fair penny or the stink. If you need the bare basics, use the LV icon editor and without selecting anything in the image, do a copy, then a paste or import to get a masked image. This also has limitations on size and flexibility in defining the mask, but it handles most cases just fine. Greg McKaskle
