#define is really a precompiler directive in C/C++. It is probably more
efficient if we wrote a macro which could be read directly by the compiler ;
and there are moves to try to eliminate the precompiler altogether.
So I wouldn't laugh at alternatives but rather pursue them as to how it
could improve our programming efficiency (space/time).
Of course Labview is certainly not very efficient - but given that the
main proportion of users are not programmers it probably doesn't have to be.
