Also, can the FP tags be cast to strings then back to FP tags without injury?

Has anyone found a good solution for configuring FieldPoint hardware
from labview installations that don't have the associated IAK file?
We're trying to support various FP modules in a networked environment
where neither MAX nor FieldPoint support will always be installed on
the computers where the devices are configured.
