In your post that responded to Bruce Ammons you stated that it was not a type-def when 
in fact your example uses a type-def.

This is the problem. I guess you could say that "why does the value coerce with a 
direct wire to the object itself?" There is
probably an issue there that needs to be addressed by NI.
