I don't know much about that particular issue, but from what I read:
There are no fixes in 2.2 that could be merged.
- 2.2 uses old code that works with the dependencies you have installed
- 2.3 has newer code and needs newer dependencies.
On the issues it says, you may have to build them yourself. (I have
no idea, when they will be avail pre-compiled)
