gdk_event_request_motions is a gtk 2.12 feature. I need to read up on this.
IT also means that we need to think if we should bump the minimal gtk2
requirement.
It was slightly buggy, as you can see by the comments, but there's
been some more developments in the discussion on the gtk bugzilla.
This patch increases performance in the designer on my slow computer
by quite a lot (I don't even know if it still applies cleanly,
though).
Maybe it can check for the version?
When the time it there i'll decide.
