First Round: ------------- Startlazarus.exe: 56 seconds (blank project) Lazarus.exe 36 seconds (blank project) Second round ---------------- (IDE closed, then re-opened completely) Startlazarus.exe: 31 seconds (blank project) Lazarus 24 seconds (blank project) Third round : ------------- (IDE closed, then re-opened completely) Startlazarus.exe: 25 seconds (blank project) Lazarus 25 seconds (blank project) Delphi: First Round: ------------- (IDE closed, then re-opened completely) 5 seconds Second Round: ---------------- (IDE closed, then re-opened completely) 2 seconds 400mhz Celeron Windows 2000 Lazarus Version: 0.9.7 RB Alpha Conclusion: In this particular case I don't think there is an issue. Maybe only 0.9.8 or something? The results I got above show the typical memory management situation... sometimes you get faster compiler times just depending on the computer state.
