[lazarus] Problem with installing lazarus on linux

Dear all, I am new to linux, having usez Windows extensively. I have a problem installing linux on ubuntu. Whenever I compile Lazarus,I receive the following error:                             Free Pascal Compiler version 2.0.1 [2005/09/23] for i386 Copyright (c) 1993-2005 by Florian Klaempfl Target OS: Linux for i386 Compiling lazarus.pp Fatal: Can't find unit glib Fatal: Compilation aborted make[2]: *** [lazarus] Error 1 make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/lib/lazarus/ide' make[1]: *** [ide] Error 2 make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/lib/lazarus/ide' make: *** [ide] Error 2 [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/usr/lib/lazarus #   I don’t know if the problem is with the FPC or Lazarus or Ubuntu itself. Could anyone please help.   Renier
