Is there some way to get the source of lazarus from the repository together with the free pascal compiler etc. and be able to build the IDE right after that and run it? I mean just check-in one single thing, not read instructions and find fpc and copy it there, then run it (or do I have the wrong impression that this is the current way it's done?)
