Fair enough. I've spent all of 30 minutes with the FP IDE so take your

Personally I don't like FPC inside the Lazarus directory... but hey,
that's just me, and surely must have make the installation easier
under Windows.

Yup, that's what I do... I just needed a Lazarus.exe to do the
recompile, though it that case I guess I could just as well have
downloaded the Lazarus source only and do a make from the command
line.  I'll remember it for next time. :)
