Hi, thanks for the hint as I have no photoshop by hand at the moment. As it comes from adobe I hope this will go into an future TIFF spec.
I like to do the conversions by Your tool tifficc. Are You interessted to look at an diff if ready and maybe include it to support alpha tiffs as well with Your utilities?
