Hi,

1) I'm looking for a way to add a (in this case linear) vcgt to a profile
which was made with qtMonitorProfiler.exe (from lcms 1.09). Does
someone have an idea how to do this? Are there free tools which help
me with this task?

Regarding the monitor profiler I have some additional questions:

2) qtMonitorProfiler.exe from lcms 1.09 was available as a binary. Did
I understood it right, that the support for the MonitorProfiler was
dropped with latter versions of lcms?

3) What's the relation/difference of pf.exe (regarding monitor
profiles) to qtMonitorProfiler.exe? pf.exe seems to have lost the
ability to create LUT based profiles or to use a measurement sheet to
create the profiles. Is this right or is this just "hidden"? Are
there changes how the Matrix profile will be created by pf.exe or
qtMonitorProfiler?

4) I want to create a generic profile for a certain monitor and needed
to average the profiles. These where the steps I did:

   a) I calibrated some displays with pf.exe (and an EyeOne Display2).

   b) Used icc2it8 to get the "measurement data" (of course not the
real measurement data, but sort of) and to average the data. Then I
would use qtMonitorProfiler.exe to create a new profile.

But I found that using icc2it8 and then directly converting the it8
values back to a monitor profile will loose precision. For example
when a monitor profile has a gamma value of RGB (2.09; 2.15; 2,2) the
resulting recreated profile will show an averaged gamma for all the
channels, which might be a gamma for RGB of 2.12 (or something like
that -- I haven't noted the real values). Now I will use Gretag's
MeasurementTool to make the it8-sheets and to average them and then
use qtMonitorProfiler.exe to create the monitor profile, but I'm still
curious to know if the loss of precision for the gamma curves is a
"bug" or unwanted feature or if that was a designers choice for a
specific reason?

Looking forward to hear any ideas or pointes.

Best regards
Peter
