Last week we finally migrated the department from NIS to Openldap.
For the most part, we have been pretty happy with the change.
however I am noticiing some strange problems.
Our client machines are Mostly Solaris 10, some are Solaris 9.
at times I can do a
% getent passwd username
and it will find it and return it to me.
but other times the users will not be returned.
I am not sure if this is related, but I do see this in the log
files:
holly nscd[18902]: [ID 293258 user.warning] libsldap: Status: 7 Mesg: Session
error no available conn.
Is this a problem on my client side?
If this is not enough information, I am not sure what else would be
needed.
