Yes, if you want that configuration to survive a powercycle of the box. > > I'm wondering when this information will be loaded to Control Domain > or each Logical Domain. Whenever does each domain reboot? No, on reboot, each domain's configuration remains instantiated within the hypervisor. The config is only reloaded from the SP on a complete powercycle of the host. > In my test, I built one Logical Domain at first. Definitely I added > the spconfig of new configuration so far. Most config changes take effect (i.e. are committed to the hypervisor) immediately. Those that don't (e.g. adding or removing memory from an active domain) take effect on reboot of that domain. > > After that, I changed the memory size. Just a regular reboot is needed to commit the new memory size (or any other so-called delayed reconfiguration event). > > I just tried to reboot the system w/o reconfiguration. > It showed me the configuration that I've changed right before. In the case of a delayed reconfiguration, the new config is immediately stored in the hypervisor, but is not made active until the next reboot of the target domain. > > I tried to reboot the system w/ reconfiguration again. > It showed me the same result. > > According this, I've got a conclusion that configuration of the > system is saved on SC automatically. Configs are not saved to the SP unless you specifically request it. As long as the hypervisor stays running, any config changes you make are persisted. It's when someone kicks the power cord out that you'll lose all your changes if you had not done the add-spconfig. -Eric > > Is everything right? > I'm really short of LDOM, just getting close to. > Plz let me know anything about this. > Thank you in advance. > > Regards, > Wonchul. > -- > This message posted from opensolaris.org > _______________________________________________ > ldoms-discuss mailing list > ldoms-discuss at opensolaris.org > http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/ldoms-discuss -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
