Hi Ajay , for a you will need to a volume on that slice to use it as a  
installable device


zfs if you have the ram to spare on your io domain (4gb i believe is  
the recommendation)
or a file on top of ufs

I did try using a svm metadevice but the performance was very poor



right now i have gone down the flat file route until my hba's arrive  
for san attachment
