Hello,

We have a SUN T5240 that we installed Solaris 10 and the LDOM infrastructure.
We loaded Veritas volume manager on the physical host, created raw device
volume names etc, and bound them to the applicable virtual disk and vritual
LDOM server via LDOM commands.

Typically when we install Sybase raw devices, you can change the
permissions(owner, group) on those devices via the Veritas
gui(/dev/vx/rdsk/etc...). However in the virtual disk world, there is no
Veritas disk path, but /dev/rdsk/ct******** and then a bunch of links to other
areas. Anybody, have a tip on a failsafe way to chance the appropriate
"virtual disk" link with the permissions that are necessary? And make it stick
on a reboot? We have to change the owner and group permissions from "root" to
"sybase" etc. to have the db tables load appropriately. We haven't started
this part yet, but I thought someone out there maybe doing this and you might
have a comment.

Thanks.

Steve
