If these truly are disk images rather than CDROM images, then you don't 
need the :f on the end of the path, that is specifically for CDROM''s 
whihc boot from the :f partition, of course if you have odd partitioning 
  for where the boot partition is placed, you may need the :f for a 
conventional disk image, though thats a little exception in my experience.
