I never asked, but before your change how was the single LUn that was presented tot he LDom configured on the EMC box? Was it striped over many physical disks? I assumed it was, but if it was not could help explain the speedup.

App is multithreaded but the part that does the reads on the 60,000 inode filesystem is single threaded. I have the application admins testing this now but with my test of doing a simple ls -R | wc -l | have gone from taken 1 minute 45 seconds down to just under 15 seconds. I would say that this is an improvement.
