Like the subject says, anyone feeling crazy? I need a guinea pig, since I
currently don't have any non-production boxen I can pull down to even see
if this will boot. If it does though...

-rw-r--r-- 1 wolfstar root 388927 Jan 31 04:14 oldlib.tar.gz
-rw-r--r-- 1 wolfstar root 596076 Jan 31 04:31 newlib.tar.gz

and:

wolfstar@ragnar:~/lrp/newlib > du -h
1.4M .
wolfstar@ragnar:~/lrp/oldlib > du -h
1.4M .

Now that you're all looking at me like a freak, the contents of
oldlib.tar.gz above is the /lib directory from my vanilla root.lrp off my
2.9.8 disk image.

newlib.tar.gz contains glibc v2.1.3, compiled optimized then stripped, for
the i386 and later. The compile came through clean, but I have no idea if
these libs are even usable. In fact, since I'm not a hundred percent sure
where three of the libs come from, I simply used the old ones. Those libs
are:

libncurses.so.4 - I know where, but know it's not critical
libss.so.2.0
libuuid.so.1.1

So... if anyone wants to wrap up a quick disk image and substitute these
for the glibc v2.0.7 versions, let me know and I'll toss up the tarball in
the morning. Right now though, I'm going to go crawl into bed and die for
a few hours.
