It is outrageously expensive going that round.

I believe I can get a single quantity of a thin client with
some flash, 8-16 M DOC, and 32M SDRAM, for $300.  In 300 
quantities, it drops to less than $200.

The Linux embedded hardware is all screwed up with the big guys
trying to recover their R&D cost.  There is nothing wrong, but
I only want to pay for the bare hardware cost.  Thin client is
a good platform, since it is well standardized and has a low
manufacturing cost.
