Hi,

the exclude file for the dnscache package should not contain
/etc/dnscache/root/servers/*. This makes it impossible to point the
resolver to a private content server which is used inside the local
network (see below). The entry should be changed to:
/etc/dnscache/root/servers/@

To use a private server within my LAN which is responsible for
the subdomain example.fte.to I have to put it's IP address into the
file /etc/dnscache/root/servers/example.fte.to.
The current exclude entry does match this file, so my configuration is
lost during a package backup.

In case I want to switch my root-servers to a different set, the entry
should go away completely (in this case also the @ file has to be
backed up).
