Hi Gavin,
I've been doing some playing, and I am pretty certain that I have a
buildenv that works with uClibc 0.9.7.
Put it this way, it makes itself, plus everything for initrd, and net-snmp
(which I have been using for testing
because they need lots of pre-reqs). I've also compiled openssh etc just
for fun!
I have some files (ok lots!) and an additional patch for sed (that appears
to remove a final BSD'ism in it).
What I want to know is how do I move this forward?!
I've never had write access to the repository and my knowledge of CVS
could be written on the back of a stamp!
Well, with the beta of Bering uClibc currently being worked on, this
will obviously not find it's way into the next release - but if you send
your patches/sources to me, I'll make sure they'll at least make it into
the contrib area of CVS for now.
The problem with the latest uClibc versions is that they keep braking
compatibility with older releases, so we keep waiting for things to
stabilize a bit (that's why we've not upgraded to anything newer yet).
But of course, the work you've put in will help a lot when we move to a
newer uClibc release (which is bound to happen sooner or later). Thanks
for working on that - and also for offering to share the results of your
work.
If the files are more than 10MB or so, contact me off list first (I
don't think my mail server will allow anything larger than that).
Martin
