Hi,

I'm in the process of building a l2tp daemon package. My goal is to build a
MSL2TP/IPSEC compatible VPN hub supporting at least a few tenth of
simultaneous connections.

I've got working prototypes of Debian's l2tpd (1), Xelerance's xl2tpd (2)
and Katalix Systems' openl2tp (3)

(1) is very lightweight, but is not really maintained anymore
(2) is a forked version of (1) maintained by Xelerance Corporation
(3) is a different codebase, with kernel-mode ppp-over-l2tp but has
dependencies with readline and portmap

The most mature seems to be (3) but I think (2) would fit better in BUC

Does someone have some opinion on this ?

Regard,
Cedric
