It was just an observation and the one who codes decides, esp. in such matters of taste - there was no real need to change it and I'm sorry that my remarks caused some work. I've got the help texts and while it's fine for the expert mode I dislike it for the basic mode. The idea of webconf is to alleviate a basic setup for two or three different network access modes (dhcp, pppoe,...) nothing more. For complex setups users may use the expert mode, lrcfg or the command line. I think having the help text near the configuration settings is good thing. Another option is to make the help text a real path through the setup - then it should be at the start of "basic interface" together with the General Information and with links to the pages for the configuration. I'm afraid this can become very complex and it may also break the modularity of webconf. So I vote to revert the help text changes and provide them on the configuration pages they belong to. That said another question might be answered as well, which you've raised in another mail to devel list. As I expressed, IMHO there is no need to reflect each and every kind of setup, usage scenario for a LEAF box and installed package. webconf is aiming for new and unexperienced users who just need a few entries to connect to their ISP and having access to the net for their LAN - as simple as possible, with the minimum that is needed. Hopefully this also simplifies webconf, at least the basic part. kp ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sponsored by: SourceForge.net Community Choice Awards: VOTE NOW!
