My knowledge is still a bit shaky, but it sounds to me like you need to
edit a file called syslinux.cfg that lives on the root directory of your
boot floppy. There will be a section something like
boot=/dev/fd0,msdos
and maybe
PKGPATH=/dev/fd0
Which tell the boot process where to look for the data it needs. /dev/fd0
means the first floppy drive (same as DOS drive A), and you should replace
it in syslinux.cfg with the reference to the CD drive you're trying to boot
from.
I'm afraid I don't know what that will be though - it depends on if the
drive is SCSI or IDE, and if IDE I think it depends on whether it's master
or slave and which interface it's connected to.
