Right now I'm working on getting the setup script debugged and working;
that is the main stumbling block.  I'd like to get it to where a general
user set it up without too much trouble.

glibc 2.0.7

Yes, as long as they use glibc 2.1 and ncurses 4.  ncurses is now at 5;
probably should be wary until I can see to it that ncurses 5 works
alright - also trying to upgrade now.

Yes.  RH 6.2 would make a fine development environment for Oxygen.

Not that I'm aware of.  Most upgrades are smitten with Linux 2.4, not
glibc 2.1 or 2.2.  Personally, I got tired of trying to compile on an
ancient box, or finding apps that wouldn't work under glibc 2.0.
