1. Wasn't knocking Walnut Creek, rather was trying to say that they did a massive amount of good for FreeBSD and Slackware. :)

I went back and re-read the fsf URL a couple of times again, and yes, I do see and agree with what you were referring to, ei: that the url author had been writing on the server software and that was what he was being asked to sign over rights to. I think where my misunderstanding came in, is where the author was alleging that what VAlinux wanted was for him to turn over all rights to his present and future work which he (the url author) interpreted would apply to all his work. However, on re-reading closly it appears that VA Linux is only referring to the server software, rather than any past and present works of the author in totallity.
