I was, as you & Victor pointed out, wrong... The real command would be 
'svi network ipfilter reload' assuming you have the same (or  similar)
scripts to the ones we/I have... Funny thing is that I did look at
the code/help screen of /etc/init.d/network but when came the time
to type down the resulting command I left out "network", oops... (sorry...)
