Hi!

I recently had to reinstall my firewall because the hd on which it was stored (and my
backups )-; )
"blew up" and decided to make it Dachstein-based instead of ES2B-based (If I hadn't
had to "start
from scratch" I probably wouldn't have made that move especially considering that I
was already
using the extended scripts, the newest kernel & that I had made the switch from glibc
2.0.? to
glibc 2.1.3).

I wanted to reinstall portsentry but the package I had and the ones I downloaded from
either
http://c0wz.com:81 or it's mirror at http://c0wz.steinkuehler.net do not decompress
correctly...

I get the following error messages:

gunzip: invalid compressed data--crc error
gunzip: invalid compressed data--length error

Any ideas as to what might be causing these? Are the packages really corrupted or is
there some
sort of incompatibility between the gunzip/gzip that was used with ES2B and the one
used with
Dachstein? (BTW, I didn't used Netscape to download these so I would hope that the
files
are ok...)

Thanks!

Nick

PS: This hd didn't quite like having its power removed and reapplied a few seconds
later and
since I noticed that it had "blown up" after a power outage we had recently I would
guess
that when our power utility company reapplied power after the outage the power wasn't
reapplied smoothly and the motor (or something else) blew up...

PPS: Please forgive my English as it is not my mother tongue. Thanks!
