I've sucessfully migrated my Dachstein floppy distro. to use Etherboot as the boot loader.
That's nothing special in itself however I've documented the process and modified an existing contrib/mklrpnb script to make the task a little easier. The script also modifies two files, the network.conf and the linuxrc file. This means you won't need to make the same mistakes I did - hopefully anyway! I use a serial console exclusively so there is a rundown on that process as well as touching on the necessary eprom procedure. Eproms may be the sticking point for most people however FlashRoms and PCIs could be a way around it. While it was written around my setup (cable modem) and the Optus@Home network, there's no reason why the process wouldn't transfer to other setups. The page can be found at http://members.optushome.com.au/graybeard/linux/netboot.html (This is a repost and I'll apologize in advance if the original comes through. Murphy's law and all that.) -- Cheers Glenn Only two groups of people fall for flattery -- men and women. _______________________________________________ Leaf-user mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/leaf-user
