Bering is likely a good platform for this... we have had some very promising test results with Bering Beta4, but are still working out a few wrinkles with Bering RC1. We intend to publish details of the configuration once we have completed our testing. Your PCI-PCMCIA adapter might be a big problem if your PC is not fully compliant with the PCI2.2 specification. There are a variety of sources documenting this issue.
