I found the perfect platform at a local used computer dealer (in Los Angeles).
Brand and model... Digital Celebris DL5100 50 Mhz pentium with 64 MB ram for $29.00 or 100 MHZ pentium with 64 MB ran for $39.00 It boots the 1440 stock LRP disk fine, but when I try to boot with either a Dachstein or Bering SuperDisk (1680), the boot hangs immediately after displaying the "Loading" message. The SuperDisks were downloaded and created on a Win2000 box (cause Redhat doesn't have a /dev/fd0u1680 :-(). Note... the Dachstein and Bering disks boot and run OK on three other machines I have tried. HAS ANYONE ENCOUNTERED BOOT PROBLEMS WITH THE SUPERDISK FORMAT? ANYONE KNOW OF AN EASY WORKAROUND? BTW, I am new to this list, but I have been around UNIX for a couple decades. I have contributed to the Trinux project, and I am looking forward to helping out here as well... Thanks in advance. Anyone in Southern California who wants directions to the cheap hardware can email me. -- -------------------- Timothy Burt Internet Specialist _______________________________________________________________ Don't miss the 2002 Sprint PCS Application Developer's Conference August 25-28 in Las Vegas -- http://devcon.sprintpcs.com/adp/index.cfm ------------------------------------------------------------------------ leaf-user mailing list: [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/leaf-user SR FAQ: http://leaf-project.org/pub/doc/docmanager/docid_1891.html
