Yes, my redhat7.3 box also tells "socket 0: Lucent Technologies Wavelan/IEEE"
so i comment PRISM2 part in 'hermes.conf' file. in my case 'config' don't appected 
anything.
Finally, my bering log is also "socket 0: Lucent Technologies Wavelan/IEEE",
but same result..
