Has anyone managed to get the Raylink PCMCIA card (such as the WebGear
Aviator) to work with Bering rc3? I saw a note in the PCMCIA config
files that it "doesn't work." I tried setting it up anyway, and I can
get the driver to load, and I can ping the card itself, but not the
remote system (a Win98 laptop). If I try to run iwconfig or iwgetinfo,
I get a kernel Oops. Color me clueless here... PCMCIA in 2.4-land seems
to be a bit different than with 2.2.

Before I can replace my ancient pmfirewall/Mandrake 6.1 system at home,
I need working wireless. Should I keep trying with the raylink driver,
or should I ditch the cards in favor of Orinoco or PRISM-based units?
They'd be faster, but I'm a bit of a cheapskate. :-)

Also, how can I insure that PCMCIA services and drivers are loaded and
running *before* the system tries to start Shorewall? I found that I
had to log in, shut down Shorewall, ifdown and ifup the PCMCIA card, and
restart Shorewall, because it insists on the interface being present
when it starts.
