Silicon Storage Technology (SST) has a ATA-Disk Module (ADM) with a
hardware write protect function. It doesn't have a write protect jumper,
but it does have a custom ATA controller on the ADM that implements
hardware write protect. My father and I are planning to publish a
modification to this device that will add a write protect jumper or
remote switch.

Secured DiskOnModule (SDOM) devices are produced by Power Quotient
International (PQI). They have a software+hardware write protect
solution.
