Craig, Silicon Storage Technology (SST) has a ATA-Disk Module (ADM) with a hardware write protect function. It doesn't have a write protect jumper, but it does have a custom ATA controller on the ADM that implements hardware write protect. My father and I are planning to publish a modification to this device that will add a write protect jumper or remote switch. ATA-Disk Module (ADM) http://www.sst.com/products/58sm_lm.html Secured DiskOnModule (SDOM) devices are produced by Power Quotient International (PQI). They have a software+hardware write protect solution.
