although I haven't done this through a LPT port, I did do something very similar via null modem cable (PPP instead of PLIP). The physical connection is ofcourse done through the two LPT ports, and then you'll need to run (i assume?) pppd on /dev/lpt1. I could dig up what I did under the serial device, but I have since moved on. Although it worked, it was more of a project than a need. I no longer have it setup for that.
