Hi.
My box has a 3Com EtherLink III 3c509 ISA network card which does not
seem to be supported by a stock WISPDist install.
Is there a place to get extra modules from that are compatible with
WISPDist?
Seeing that WISP is based on Bering, i grabbed the 3c509 module for
Bering from
http://leaf.sourceforge.net/devel/jnilo/bering/latest/modules/drivers/net/
, copied it to the installed system, edited /etc/modules and saved the
configuration. The card is detected OK on bootup, but the kernel
crashes shortly after bootup is complete (sometimes 5 seconds after
bootup, sometimes 1 minute).
The WISP install was perfectly stable before i added this driver, and
the box is perfectly stable with the 3c509 up and running under a stock
2.4.19 kernel under a redhat 6.2 install.
Are the latest bering modules incompatible with WISPDist?
TIA,
dan.
