Since Bering does not have a hard drive, there is not enough
entropy to properly generate a valid key.

Things you could do:

open another console and go through the menus editing files
without changing anything to see if it helps or

as Chad says, generate the keys in another machine

Subject: [leaf-user] ipsec in bering

I'm trying to generate keys using ipsec on Bering. It seems to take for
ever. Do not know if I've not given all arguments and hence program is
waiting or it is just taking time. Any help please.

Chad's chapter talks of using another machine for generating the
certificates etc. Are these utilities missing in Bering? fswcert - looks
new. Not seen anywhere. Is it in the openssl.lrp?

I'd like to carry out all those commands on the bering box itself. Can I?
The x509 gives unknown option error in openssl from openssl.lrp
