Hi all,

I'm trying to set up a Linux box running the latest release of Bering distribution .
The image file is : Bering_1.0-stable_img_bering_1680.exe

The floppy was built as explained in the installation guide and boot works fine on an old 486 motherboard .
I modifie the keyboard in French type ( this should be done previous all other thing for non US users !!!)
I save keyboard config and I boot again : this works fine too.

Then I put the 3c509 module ( size 13892 ) in /lib/modules anf I initialize the file /etc/module in section "ISA Ethernet cards" and put 3c509 in place of the default value . I save all this configuration.

The probem is that during boot an error message is given at ethernet module load time :

"unresolved symbol --out_of_line_bug"

The "insmod 3c509" give the same message

I try on many main board and I get the same result. ( one of these machine run perfectly my NIC board under Linux Mandrake )

I try to configure ISA board by 3COM DOS utilities and by disabling PnP mode : same result

Any information or help about this problem would be very appreciated

Thanks a lot

Jean-Francois
