Hi, I'm trying to get bering or ucBering running on a motherboard with an nvidia chipset. The drivers are partially open source :( and for that reason aren't and will never be integrated into the kernel.
I'm having difficulty in getting a Bering kernel compile environment setup and I'm hoping that someone on this list can build this driver for me. According to the nvidia license, there is a linux exception which makes this legal: """ 2.1.2 Linux Exception. Notwithstanding the foregoing terms of Section 2.1.1, SOFTWARE designed exclusively for use on the Linux operating system may be copied and redistributed, provided that the binary files thereof are not modified in any way (except for unzipping of compressed files). """ If anyone can help me out, the drivers I need are called nvnet.o and nvnetlib.o and the driver can be downloaded from: http://download.nvidia.com/XFree86_40/nforce/1.0-0248/NVIDIA_nforce-1.0-0248.tar.gz I'm trying to use the 2.4.18 kernel so that I can choose between Bering or ucBering.
