Do you mean that if he change USB boxes for Ethernet out boxes(if they exist), there would be a chance to setup Bering box?

Hello Andrey,

I have commissionned one of this model last july here in France, for one of my customers.

It seems that Hugues have a new one which offer directly Ethernet port.
The PC with the model you have in your hands run a special software from
Hugues as a specific driver for this two units.

I think that you have no chance to exchange the Windows station against Bering.

I you can, tell us how, I will say to some guys here how to do...

Hugues is not the only one provider for this kind of Internet links.
Prefear thouse with a simple Ethernet interface as a simple PPPoE modem
or cable operator.

Good luck, and Best regards,

Objet : [leaf-user] 2 way satellite

Anybody had setup 2 way satellite with Bering?. I'm helping my friend with this. He lives on farm so this is the only way for high speed. Company is called Lincsat. They are using DirectTV satellite DirecWay. There are two modems attached to each other. Hughes IDU-R1 receiver and IDU-T1- Transmitter. Right now we are running winxp box where the software from lincsat is installed and modems are connected via USB and than ethernet from this box goes to switch. Winxp box has ICS running.
Under network connections there are 2.
Satellite usb device ip 10.100.13.xx
subnet 255.255.255.0
and Ethernet card for sharing.
This is the setup now:
INTERNET(tv cable)->Hughes modems(usb cable)-> winxp with ics->switch
and from there goes to my friends house computer and his neighbour computer. That works no problem. Would be nice to replace that with Bering box, to use modules and Shorewall. Thanks for help.
Andrey
