Thanks folks. With this reminder I now remember that I previously used the 'alias' command inside one of the booting scripts to set up some permanent commands. Never heard of the 'export' one.
I never create any other users, only use root so likely any script that executes during boot will work. But any helpful hints on the best (or rule-of-thumb) file would be appreciated. In my book, that defines an environment variable I suggest appending the following line to /etc/profile: alias mflash="mount -t msdos /dev/nftla1 /flash" Then backup etc.lrp Cheers Alex ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.NET email is sponsored by: SourceForge Enterprise Edition + IBM + LinuxWorld = Something 2 See! http://www.vasoftware.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------ leaf-user mailing list: [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/leaf-user SR FAQ: http://leaf-project.org/pub/doc/docmanager/docid_1891.html ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.NET email is sponsored by: SourceForge Enterprise Edition + IBM + LinuxWorld = Something 2 See! http://www.vasoftware.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------ leaf-user mailing list: [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/leaf-user SR FAQ: http://leaf-project.org/pub/doc/docmanager/docid_1891.html
