I am trying to force a 1452 mtu setting on my pppoe connection but it refuse to go to that number... It remains at 1492 what ever I change in the pppoe conf files and etc-interface settings!
It's a setting in Shorewall you need to change. Edit etc/shorewall/shorewall.conf (it's available through the usual lrcfg menus - options 3, 5, 14 on my system). At about line 225 you'll find the CLAMPMSS line. Change it to
CLAMPMSS=Yes
