Your Shorewall configuration is using syslogd -- The Bering 1.2 Shorewall
package has been modified to use ulog. Looks like the upgrade instructions
that you followed are incomplete with respect to Bering 1.2.
I'm not surprised the instructions are incomplete.
I cobbled the HOWTO together from random incomplete snippets on this mailing list and various locations on your website (shorewall.net)
This problem existed with Bering 1.1 as well.
------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------
OK, so the shorewall lrp package v1.45 downloaded from shorewall.net (using the two-interface sample) is configured to use syslogd.
While the Bering 1.2 image disk is using ulog.
Does anyone know how to resolve the conflict?
I can't.
I'm just trying to get to the point where I can follow Tom's documentation
on shorewall.net and start learning about iptables and shorewall.
