I use the netsnmp packages from Charles Steinkuehler's Dachstein CD. They 
work just fine under Bering 1.2. You can find the packages here:

the snmp package in the tarballs on leaf.sf.net.
Is any of those compatible with regular Bering 1.2 (glibc)
